What's Happening Third Quarter
What's Happening Third Quarter in Fifth Grade?
After winter break, we will come back strong and study many interesting concepts.
Language Arts -- We will be studying concepts such as fact and opinion, and summarizing. The fun stories we will be reading are: Goin' Someplace Special, Carlos and the Skunk, Getting out the Vote, Hurricanes, Weslandia, and Spirit of Endurance.
Math -- Units 7, 8, 9 -- (Measurement, Fractions, and Data). Continue to use the website www.everydaymathonline.com to help your student practice games, facts and get study links.
Science - We will be starting our discussion on Space Science. The students will work on constellations - studying the ones in the sky as well as creating their own. We will also talk about the planets and our place in the Solar System.
Social Studies - Our third quarter topics will include: We will continue discussing the regional areas of colonies and start our discussions on American Revolution. We will have some fun games about our Presidents.
