Where am I?
Back to Football

Back to Football Friday Started with a Bang, this year. The entire school was red with excitement. Classes made posters to show their support, but that was just the beginning. Students constructed their own unique football players. They made bobble heads of themselves as football players. They used their hand prints to outline the arrow head (and that was all done before Friday).

The day was filled with the Spirit of the Chiefs and the theme of eating healthy and staying active. PE classes practiced their football skills including tackling, cheering, throwing and kicking. First grade classes took a walk together to the post office, wrote letters to their favorite chiefs players and had a healthy snack tailgate lunch for the teachers and students. The teachers also excited their classes by spelling out “KC”, using themselves as the letters.

Second grade tailgated as well, and the students got to cheer on their teachers in an orange eating contest and victory pyramid. The Kindergarten team is all about team work. They planned an adventure to the Spring Hill football field to find out how many kindergarteners it would take to span the 100 yard distance.

At the end of the day the whole school gathered in the gym for a pep rally. We sat in the shape on an arrow head and welcomed the “Starting Teacher Lineup” with a roar. As each teacher was announced the classes cheered louder and louder. To get the students ready for the Chiefs Football season we learned some cheers (Let’s Go Chiefs) and we also learned a fun way to remember the importance of eating a balanced diet including all food groups. “The Food Pyramid Macarena”
