Lynda Jochims
Special Education Dept. Chair, Afterschool Program Teacher and Volunteer Coordinator
As you can see from the titles above, I have many different and important responsibilities at Spring Hill High School. When I'm asked, which one of these is my favorite I respond, "yes!" My commitment to our students, parents, faculty and community is deeply rooted in my sense of compassion and love for education. My work provides me with immense pride and accomplishment since each of my work responsibilities has delivered great accomplishment and merit. Each teacher at Spring Hill has a very busy day and I'm no different. You are welcome in my classroom and welcome to participate and join in the business.
A great amount of emphasis has been placed upon our continuing effort in transitions. This ongoing process has helped our students realize many of their ambitions and dreams. In Special Education, we continue to provide services tailored to the student's individual needs. Each student is monitored according to their Individual Education Plan. Students with learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and students other health impairments are served through our program.
Our Afterschool Program provides continuing and monitored assistance for students in completing their homework and make-up assignments. This greatly helps in keeping students at pace with their peers and also requires stronger accountability.
Volunteer Class and the Volunteer Club teach students values on commitment, leadership and community awareness. The Volunteer programs have proven to be very popular with the student body and also have awarded Spring Hill with great, positive notoriety. Join us in our work and welcome!
