Third Grade Teacher
Welcome to third grade. Students work as a class, in small groups, and independently on a variety of reading skills. Some of those skills are making predictions, finding the main idea and details, and retelling. In addition, improving reading fluency and increasing vocabulary are emphasized. Writing and spelling skills are also a part of the curriculum.
In math, a variety of topics are covered including multiplication, telling time, counting money, fractions, and solving story problems. Those skills are covered by our district math text Everyday Math as well as other activities.
Throughout the day, students attend special classes, such as music and physical education. They also participate in science and social studies activities in the classroom and science lab.
