Special Education Teacher, 7th Grade
As the fourth quarter of the 2011-2012 school year opens we are using our time to make sure we are ready for the language arts and math assessments. The Kansas State Science Assessment preliminary scores look great. Study the language arts terms, parts of a story, figurative language terms, and common root words to boost your knowledge. Then comes math, and don't forget to memorize the formulas for finding perimiter and area of the geometric shapes.
This is my fourteenth year at Spring Hill Middle School. Again this year, I am working primarily with seventh grade students and teachers and continue to work in collaboration with all grade levels when there is a need. I really enjoy the middle school age group.
After receiving my bachelor’s degree from Avila University as a career move, I was able to begin teaching which continues to change and challenge me. I enjoy working here at Spring Hill Middle School with the professional staff that strives to provide a safe and caring learning experience for children.
In my classroom, we attempt to help students achieve all that they can by working on their class work from other classes and give them strategies to become more independent students of learning.
As the year progresses, we want to help all the students understand the content areas and make sure they understand new concepts as they are presented in classes. Perfect practice can help make better learning and successful students.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about your student!
