Music and Band Instructor
Welcome to music at SHIS! In my classroom, we learn about notes, rhythms, musical styles, how to use our voices effectively and how to play a variety of instruments with proper technique. We also learn what it means to cooperate and make good music as a group. Each grade gets to perform one program a year and it’s a great chance to show off the talent we have in our school!
In the band program, students learn the performance skills that they will need throughout their band career. Notes and rhythms are essential, but so is the responsibility it takes to practice at home, turn in practice records, bring your instrument to every class and be an effective contributor to the band as a whole.
