8th Grade Student Services
It is difficult to believe that the end of the year is almost here! This has been a busy year for all of us, students and teachers alike.
During 4th quarter, the eighth graders will be taking the Kansas State Assessments in Reading on March 28, 29, and 30th. The Kansas State Assessments in Math will be given on April 10, 11, 12, and 13th.
In Personal Management Class, we will continue to focus on good organizational skills and work ethic. Don't forget that study guides will be provided for tests in core classes a few days prior to tests. I will continue to enter assignments and due dates in the Google Calendar. This is a great place to view assignments for all of your student's classes in one simple place!
Just a reminder...'MAVS at WORK,' is an after-school program designed to assist any student who meets ONE or more of the following criteria: 1. Student has missing assignments, 2. Student needs extra help in a specific subject area, 3. Student has a failing or near-failing grade in a class, 4. Student needs a structured environment for studying, and/or 5. Student needs assistance in organizing his/her school supplies and materials. A student can refer him/herself to this weekly work session or can be referred by a teacher or parent. Students will be provided a structured setting in which to work, and snacks will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity to get extra help as needed. If interested, please contact me for future 'MAVS at WORK' sessions.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
