Special Education Teacher
As a special education teacher, I assist many different students with a variety of subjects throughout the day. Much of what I teach is supplemental to the curriculum delivery and activities that teachers are doing in their classrooms. If this is not appropriate for the student, I design a plan that is best suited for the child. My goal in doing this is to ensure that each child is working to his/her potential while being successful. Instruction is done in both a small group and one-on-one setting.
In addition, I have paraprofessionals that assist with students. A majority of the time, the paraprofessionals assist students in the classroom. There are times, especially during the morning reading block, that the paraprofessionals are teaching groups. The paraprofessionals also assist in all subject matters throughout the day.
